Celestria Hill

Senior Associate


Celestria Hill graduated from Hood College in Maryland with Academic Honors and a Bachelors Degree in Elementary/Special Education as well as a minor in African American Studies. While at Hood College, she was active in campus extracurricular activities such as collegiate women's basketball and the Black Student Union. There she also discovered a passion for mentorship, especially for BIPOC scholars in lower-income areas, which ultimately inspired her to cofound the Community Ambassadors club.

Celestria taught elementary and middle school in Frederick County as well as Baltimore County, where she continued to nurture her passion for mentorship and coaching. As a former teacher in a SEL (social-emotional learning) behavior program for students, she experienced first-hand how impactful mentorship and guidance are toward shifting a scholars' mindset and overall perspectives of their life and education.

A passionate community builder from Baltimore, Maryland, Celestria is now thriving in Montgomery, Alabama. Celestria is committed to revitalizing Selma, Alabama with Common Power. She is ushering in a new chapter for Scholars in Motion, ready to make a positive impact and foster connections in her adopted community.
